Biography
She received education in philosophy and cinema. In 2004, she realized her first documentary, Sandık. In 2010, she participated in Kars Öyküleri, which consists of 5 short films, with her film titled “Açık Yara”. Açık Yara was screened at many international festivals such as Rotterdam, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Sarajevo, and Beirut in 2010. Her first feature-length film, Toz Bezi, had its world premiere in the Forum section of the Berlin Film Festival. The film’s awards include: Best Screenplay, Best Film, Best Actress at the Istanbul Film Festival; Best Film, Best Actress at the Nuremberg Turkish-German Film Festival; Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress at the Duhok Film Festival; Best Film at the Naples Film Festival; Best First Film at the Ankara Film Festival; Best First Film at SIYAD; Best Film at the Brazil International Women’s Film Festival.
