Synopsis
Mehmet (41), an unsuccessful tradesman living in Mardin on the border with Syria, bought a herd of cows for a cheap price just beyond the border with the last money he had. While he is waiting for the cows he bought to arrive, the border gate is closed due to the increased tension in Syria. Unable to reach the driver who is supposed to bring the cows, Mehmet waits for days at the resting facilities at the border gate.

Biography
Mahsum Taşkin was born in 1994 in Şırnak. He graduated from Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 2018. In 2020, he wrote and directed his first short film, “Alf Leila Wa Leila / One Thousand and One Nights.” He won an award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival with One Thousand and One Nights. His second short film, “Garan,” was selected for national festivals such as the Istanbul Film Festival and Akbank Short Film Festival, as well as prestigious international festivals, including the Oscar, EFA, and Bafta-accredited Goshort Film Festival, Medfilm Festival, Kaohsiung FF, Edmonton FF, Manaki Brothers, and Brussels International Short FF.
