Synopsis

Kadir, a meatball vendor, discovers that he can realise his long-standing desire to fly thanks to a device called a ‘paramotor’, a powered parachute. From that moment on, he starts to practise parachuting hopefully and tirelessly. This extraordinary dream is widely considered utterly odd, provocative, and even causes him to be heavily criticised.

 

Biography

Rezan Yeşilbaş completed his undergraduate education at Istanbul Marmara University’s Cinema-TV Department in 2008. In the same year, he wrote and directed Hüküm (The Judgement), the first short film of the “Women’s Trilogy.” The film competed in numerous international film festivals and won various awards. The second film of the trilogy, Sessiz / Bé Deng (Silent, 2012), received the Palme d’Or in the Short Film Competition at the 65th Cannes Film Festival held in May 2012. The director’s first feature-length film, Uçan Köfteci (The Flying Meatball Maker, 2025), had its world premiere at the 54th International Rotterdam Film Festival and won the Best Actor award at the 44th Istanbul Film Festival.
